Searching for beauty

Every day, I try to look for something beautiful. And oftentimes, it's not that hard to find. There is beauty in everything, it's easy to get bogged down by life's problems, but ultimately, when you look beyond the bullshit, there is magic that is awaiting to be found. Maybe it's in someone's smile, maybe it's in the way a person talks, or maybe it's how you talk, but every day there is something beautiful. Today, I found beauty in the Arabic words that I read to praise God in the morning. Reminding me of the bounty and blessings that he has given us today, and every day for that matter. Because every day is an opportunity.

I saw beauty in the Henna, the way the paste slowly came out of the cone and onto my hand, how each flower petal describes the growth that we experience. How each one of our experiences is different, our wants and needs, and how we think can be completely different from the person next to us. Or the moon, how it reflects the way that we will often shift from phase to phase. Through each chapter of our lives, like the moon, we grow. Starting as a crescent, and if we are lucky, we will make it to a full moon, hopefully illuminating the same amount of light. That light, though doesnt come without the Sun. Sometimes the sun burns, and sometimes it makes your path easier to see. It just depends on the day.

There are definitely days when I forget to think about the beauty in this world, but it's the days when I remember the beautiful that make me stronger. Because despite the hardships that the earth goes through, if it still can come out looking beautiful even on its worst days, so can you.

So how does any of this have to do with Art? It has everything to do with Art because Art is a reflection of you. You may find beauty in a way that I dont or see something the way I dont Your input is your output, and centering on what is important to you to convey meaning is a top priority, the art medium you use, regardless of that. In order to cultivate the Artist you want to become its essential to search for meaning in the everyday, the mundane, the spontaneous events because it will all amount to the person that you will become and moreso the Art that you will create. A challenge both for me and you is to be on the lookout for the beautiful things that appear to you. You dont know what might appear. Anyways.
