365 Challenge
Challenging myself to 365 days of making videos. It can be cinematic, it can be questions. I dont care. Just as long as there is some sort of video. Primary objective: Have fun, learn, and shoot.
Day 1: Train Observation
I started Day 1 with an edit of videos that I took in October. Just observing the train. I liked the edit because it gives a kind of Eary and Utopia (ish) feel which I thought was cool. You can watch here
Day 2: Morning Details
I started Day 2 off with details of the morning. I didn't really plan everything, but I just figured it would be fun to shoot a video in the morning + a fun video of my friend Izza and I in the end. You can watch here
Day 3: Night Details
My friend Izza and I had a Tea Time reservation. I thought filming that would be cute. Then we just went out and explored New York going to small shops. It was simple and easy to film. You can watch here
Day 4: Born This Way baby
THIS WAS SO FUN. I decided to take lights from my closet (Newer, they are kind of trash, but it works), I attached 2 pink gels to the side using a little clip so that the light became pink. I took some fabrics and used it as a drape to cover myself and make a cool effect. Then I took my light outside and shot a video there. This was super fun. I also included a Syrian flag because why not? The fit was already a blue Abaya (thanks mom!), so might as well make it more Arab (ish). I had no idea what song I was going to do it to, I ended up doing Born This Way by Lady Gaga (I like this song, my mom would not be proud). You can watch here
Day 5: Oculus + Skater + Subway
Also loved this day. So fun. Favorite part was the skaters. You learn a lot from observing people. It's so interesting to see how much other people are in their own world. With that also just always comes the reminder that we are so small, but our actions can mean a lot to the individual. Its so interesting. With that also comes the question: Why do we meet certain people during various points of time of our life? Some people are a test, some people are a lesson, some people you grow with. It just depends. You can watch here:
Day 6: Post from Past
I just did a post from the past, I had no time. You can view here
Day 7: Last Day on Earth
I asked people in New York what they would do if it were their last day on earth. The answers were interesting. Very cool to see where people’s minds go. Personal favorite was swimming. You can view here
Day 8: New Years Resolution.
Honestly, this one was great because it puts things into perspective regarding what is important in life and where peoples minds are. The best 2 answers were the Artist who said he wanted to make art and the old man who said he wanted to live healthily. Even though I did this, obviously, New Year's is just another day that comes and goes, but it is also an opportunity to reflect on everything in the past year. I really want to take this chance to just remember the reason I am doing this and truly its to observe, practice and do something fun. One year from now it will really be amazing to look back at all of these instances of footage. Im excited, with that being said, you can watch here.
***Im also excited to look back 365 days from now to see what exactly I have accomplished. Im really going to push myself this year in regards to everything. Art, Film, Focus. That's the theme of 2026, baby. We thank god for every day that we exist. Anyways see you in Day 9.
Day 9: Tips and Tricks
Tips and Tricks (not really) for idea generation. My side eye of poking fun at influencer culture LMAO. This was fun to make because I got to experiment with lighting. Can watch here
